I have a wonky cassette recording off my Dad's old vinyl of this - one of the greatest thing in his collection. It is an awesome album, and quite unusual for its day by combining Indian instrumentation with a hard bop backing group. Also wonderful and uncommon is to hear flugelhorn solos.
This album was very inspiring to me when 23 years ago I was in a jazz combo - we covered 'God Rest Ye Merry Jazzmen' (itself a traditional Xmas carol rework), which lends itself beautifully to the bop form.
Would love to hear the rest in full too, if anyone can post or send me a link.
